History

Andrews Academy is a private, not-for-profit, co-educational Montessori elementary school, with grades junior kindergarten through sixth. Andrews Academy has no religious affiliation. It was founded in 1979, upon requests of interested parents at Hope Montessori Academy preschool. These parents believed their children had been exposed to an excellent pre-elementary environment and wanted to make certain the process would continue.

The Environment

The classrooms are designed to give each student the maximum opportunity to perform at his or her highest potential. Coupled with a low student-teacher ratio and warm, child-oriented environment, classes afford each student a significant opportunity for success. In addition there are outdoor physical education and sports areas and a nature trail. A significant amount of acreage is retained in its natural state to preserve wildlife in the area and to provide students with a nearby resource for environmental studies.

Set on a beautiful six acre campus, plans for a new state-of-the-art facility to include large classrooms, library, computer center, science laboratory, art and music rooms, gymnasium, health room, conference rooms, teachers’ workroom, administrative areas, and kitchen are planned.
